President Gordon B. Hinckley said:

"Today many sisters are being called to serve. Many more are preparing to serve. Not because they aren't married or don't have anything else to do, but they have the desire to serve. One reason that the Lord wants more sisters to serve is because within the next generation He will send His priesthood army to the earth. He wants to send choice spirit children to mothers who have been prepared, properly trained, and taught in the gospel. What better schooling can a mother have than to experience and grow as she serves a mission." --Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Look what's blown in...

Well, a new semester has officially BEGUN!
Going home was definitely needed but I was ready to get back into the swing of things.
My family, bless their souls. I love them to death.
Vegas is hard because I don't really have as many friends there as I used to.
Some were fake, some moved, some went to college, and most went on missions.

So, Rexburg. Well, as crazy as it sounds..it's my home away from home.
My life is here and my friends are here.
I love the environment that college provides where you can live with your friends,
goof off until 2 am every morning, ask about each other's day, and be there to comfort.

Bee and I, duh. We're still roommates. It's sad because every day that passes by is a day less that i'll have to spend with her. As she transfers to Provo, and me possibly going on a mission, a lot is ahead of us that's still undecided, but either way..we'll be hundreds of miles away from each other. GEEZ! you'd think we were married! But, each day that goes by, we ask eachother the same question, "What are we gonna do when we won't be with each other 24/7?" Not gonna lie, not sure if I'll be a fan of that scenario. But, life goes on. But, recently we went to the hot springs and the first school dance. We bring the party everywhere we go:)

Classes, yeah. They're great! Already had a week go by and still have A's..but who doesn't?! haha
Or so we'd hope everyone has A's at the end of week one. I have Chem 106, Anat. 265, New Testament, and World Foundations. It'll be a busy semester but I'm ready:)

Work, well work is work. The drama, the friends, the moments that I have there will be one-of-a-kind, but yet I still look forward to it every day:)

EASTER has arrived!! In preparation for it, all the roommates got together last night and dyed easter eggs...lets just say that our eggs were a bit exotic! Who would've predicted the things that would've been made out of them! But, it was great bonding time to get to know eachother and laugh until 2 am! Here are some of our creations:)
Tracey: her "baby"

Alba: and her freak! :)

Bee: her and her "baby" with a diaper

Chloe: and her man!

Me: no comment. haha

All the roommates' eggs.

Chloe and me.

Tracey and Alba.

Bee and Alex.

THEN THE FUN BEGAN!

Happy Easter! xo.

some things never grow old, no matter our age.

Well, not many things from my childhood stick out to me because time comes and goes.
Each year brings new adventures and memories that I have to add to the "memory book".
But, the other day I was at the grocery store and one memory that I had stuck out and ...
I wanted to relive it.
So, we had the pudding and the oreos at home, all that was to get was gummy worms.
Yeah, sound familiar? Worms in dirt!
I loved that all growing up, although I didn't do it that often.
We got home, made the pudding up, and crunched up some oreos.
Last finishing touch...my favorite part...the gummy worms!
I loved it, and it just brought back all fun memories and another one to add!
Bee thought this pic was hilarious, can I hear...disgusting?!

The end. xoxo

a flower for your thoughts..

is that flower mine?
yes. indeed. it. is. :)
well, I have a friend. a really good friend.
anyways, moral of the story?
He's had a rough few months, but not in a horrible way.
anyways, him and I have grown really close to each other the last week and
he went to give me a ride home last night from work, because we work together,
and there i opened the passenger door...
and to see what?
a flower on top of a card?
cute? i should say so.
anyways, i was absolutely in awe.
me, being a girl, didn't open the card...
isn't that rude?
i just didn't know if he wanted me to open it right away.
anyways, he persisted to tell me to open it.
inside it wrote: check your texts :) jarom.
i pulled out my phone, and him being sneaky and might i add..well planned
and there indeed, was a text from him.
it wrote:
The yellow flower symbolizes friendship and happiness, and reminds me a bit of you right now. After a rough winter this year, flowers return to remind us that spring is on its way bringing with it new life and color, the reason I am reminded of you is that my winter has been a little harsh as well. But, you have brought me a lot of color and joy this week.
Thank you for all the smiles! Cheesy? Maybe.
Sincere, definitely.

I've had a smile on my face ever since that moment :)
what a doll! winner? possibly.

And the countdown begins..

4 weeks.
crunch time begins.
trying to maintain my grades becomes a constant battle.
still so many tests in each of my classes.
bitter sweet.
I'm so excited to start a new semester as I kinda get to a "bored" stage in the semester where all my classes I could just be done with and be satisfied.
New friends I've made? not many.
My classes aren't very social although i've met about 5 people around me in each class.
sad huh?
I just hate change.
I have my group and friends, although I'm friendly, I just don't make an effort to pursue more.
so a better word, content.
When I go home on my break, Jared leaves on his mission.
sad.
but, glad to see him doing something that he wants to do.
As for me, next semester brings what?
a new start for my classes.
new roommates.
writing garrett will continue.
new calling, hopefully...is that wrong to say? ha
new people, new surroundings.
sun.
spring dresses.
...
all i need to do to get there...?
survive these next four weeks.
wishmeluck.

I'm in love.

Can I just take a moment to brag about the ones I love?
Yeah, at the moment, I can't help but be in love with two boys.
Who? you might ask.
My brothers.
Their names?
Tyler and Matthew.
This is them.
Can they get cuter than that?
I think not.
These boys are my world.
Them and my dad are the only boys I need in my life right now.
Tyler..
yeah, this is my man!
He's so handsome and such a love bug.
Him and I laugh and carry on conversations,
watch movies,
eat goldfish together,
play games,
wrestle,
and at the end of the day,
I miss him more than ever!
Matthew.
yep, this is a stud right here.
He, already having little 3rd grade crushes is such a hoot.
He says the funniest, most random comments,
tells me how annoying people in his class are,
talks a lot,
butts heads with me a lot, but in the end
I miss him more than ever!
The two of these boys are the best brothers ever and,
I couldn't imagine my life without one of them!
I just thought i'd take a minute to blog about two of the most amazing boys in my life.
The other one is my dad.
But, I miss them all! SO! MUCH!
man, words can't describe how amazing they are.
Proud sister I am to have them as MY brothers.
<3
Here's some more pictures..to show them off! :)

what's not to love??
love you boys!

Just me and my friend.

One word.
Vegas!
This is the get-a-way that Bri and I chose to go last weekend.
School has been killer. For both of us.
Tests.
Tons of busy work that they call homework.
Drama.
You name it, it's happened.
So, the opportunity presented itself.
And duh. WE TOOK IT!
So, Thursday night we were headed off.
I took two tests early so that I could be able to go.
And our vacation began.
It was a long ride to Vegas and no matter how cute we tried to look, we failed.
But, here was our attempt at midnight.
Then, I continued to get a few zzz's.
And lo and behold.
Black.mail.
Taken by Bri.
We arrived to Vegas at 1:45 a.m. and I was greeted by Scoob.
I went and woke up my brothers from their sleep as a suprise and the reaction that came from Tyler was well worth it.
Matthew, on the other hand, is getting too smart for his own good.
He overheard my parents talking about me coming so he knew already.
Bri didn't last 5 min I don't think and immediately went to bed.
Me, I was up for prob a half hour and then joined her.
The next day, we woke up to do homework, I went and watched Matthew perform at his African Tribute assembly, and our carpets were getting cleaned.
But, we headed off once that was done and immediately went to In-and-Out.
Oh, how we've missed you!
We went to the mall after that and had the biggest success in the 2 story Forever 21.
Dangerous.
Then, that night Bri went and hung out with Shauna while my family and I went to dinner.
Where at? Cafe Rio. mmm:)
When we were both done, we came home and had a girls night.
Facials.
Yes, this is my mother. Ain't she cute? I think so.
She's one of us.
Mom and I had the clear mask that peels off.
Not the cutest picture, but nonetheless, it was so fun!
Bri, had the chocolate mask that washes off.
And I got to do the honors.
We let them dry and mom went to bed.
Bri and I stayed up and did our nails and got caught up on the Bachelor.
Oh what a day. And off to bed it was.
Saturday we got up and hit up In-and-Out for the second time this weekend on our way to go four-wheeling.
I was stuck up there on this huge hill.
It doesn't look like much, but it was scary. not gonna lie.

We were excited:) It was Bri's first time.

Us:)
We had a blast and went home to shower.
That night we hit the strip and mall once again.
We called it a night that night.
Sunday, we got up, got ready, and went to Sacrament meeting at the Singles ward.
My grandma came to visit me and then we were off.
Back to good ole Rexburg.
And the work/school continues.

what a sundayyyy...

well, it began with church.
i was sustained and set apart as the relief society pianist.
this should be interesting considering i play for fun.
i am no where near hymn book status.
i have my 5 songs i can play and all the others i struggle miserable through.
but, i survived.
then, it was skype time with Jared Gifford..
wow.
such a cool experience to be apart of.
i have never sat in on a mission call opening and he was my first.
we sat on skype watching as he opened his call.
he is called to serve in the Argentina Resestencia mission and reporting on April 13,2011.
oh how proud I am of him.
he's going to be one of the best missionaries out there.
expect letters mister:)
confession: i kinda liked that he teared up..real men cry! haha

all in all. what an amazing day.
now i'm ready for the week:)
xoxo
